XENOGENSIS ART EXHIBITION                                                                       This exhibition takes its title from Octavia Butler’s Xenogenesis series, Black Superheroes, the concept of Black Utopia and the recommended meditations for self-care that end each essay. Xenogenesis will explore the dichotomy between Black futures, Black Life and kin through visual artifacts connected to Black speculative cultural production. Xenogenesis aims to address this absence in contemporary cultural practice through a mix of new and existing works of site-specific, participatory drawing, painting, photography, collage, sculpture, and performance.
